Some birthday party tips...
How do you want the room set up?
Only a small space is required, about 8 x 6 for an average size audience. I will provide my own table,
which the show is staged around. Have the children sit on the floor about 2 feet in front of me, with adults sitting
in the back. Smaller children (ages 2 and under) must be with a parent in the back.
Let the birthday child get a good "front row" seat. Try to have the show in a room that has easy access to the outside parking area.
Set up time for the show takes only about 10 mins.
What steps can I take to reduce distractions?
Try to limit the number of children to about 20 or so. It's less stressful for you this way.
Any show that has 25 or more kids will require extra time and fees. Have the show indoors.
There are simply too many unwelcome surprises outside. No one can predict weather changes, shifting shade,
nasty bugs, etc. An inside show would eliminate all these potential party-poopers. No TVs or stereos
playing during the show. These parties are often social occasions for the parents, too.
Please have separate rooms for talking guests who won't be viewing the show.
Here is an example of a typical party schedule:
1:30 Party begins, greet guests, start up activities (30 mins.)
2:00 MAGIC SHOW (40-45 mins.)
2:45 Balloon sculptures, fun clubs, etc. (20-25 mins.)
3:05 Cake, ice cream, etc. (10-15 mins.)
3:20 Higher energy activity (game, pinata, etc.) (10 mins.)
3:30 Goodbyes and thank yous, extra giveaways, etc. (5-10 mins.)
